Well, I don't know about you, but I'm thoroughly addicted to
Pinterest! Since I repost so many inspiring shots and ideas, I decided to contribute one that I saw this evening. I was getting my hair done by Sarah E. at
Sweetgrass Too in Atlanta, GA (Candler Park) and saw this amazing room divider! The owner apparently made and hung it himself, and I'm so inspired.
Here's the finished product:

Box spring room divider |
At first, it looks really complicated and expensive, but when you look closely, it's really simple!
First, find an old box spring. It could be a rusted (like this one), shiny & new, or even spray painted an exciting color. Next, remove the wooden "box" and covering, leaving only the metal springs. After that, buy these string lights from
Target. It took 4 strands to fill each loop in this box spring, which would be around $60 in lights.

After that, string the bulbs across the back of the box spring. It looked like they were pushed in between the back 2 coils, strung horizontally (start at the bottom). Once at the top, the strand was connected to a brown extension cord, which was woven into the rusted chain holding it to the ceiling. There are rafters in the ceiling, so that's what the chains were wrapped around.
That's about it! I hope to make one in the future and either hang it from the ceiling, lean it against a wall, or use it as a backdrop for a photo booth. Make sure you visit Sarah E. at
Sweetgrass Too and check it out for yourself!
